Work with Me in 2019!

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! If you are new to my blog, know you are welcome here. If you are coming back for a visit, please say hi! I hope 2019 has started out well for you!

Now that the year is in full swing, it is time to list the options I’m offering for those who would like to work with me this year. And, yes, I am posting starting rates as that saves us all time. I know, I know, that’s hardly considered “best practices,” but neither is having you fish through this website to sort all that out. With me, what you see is pretty much what you get; I’m down to earth, analytical, and honest.

Not familiar with me or my work? Why don’t we start here before moving to this year’s “Work with Me” options?

I am a writer and published author on Asperger’s Syndrome with over 10 years’ experience writing and speaking about Asperger’s Syndrome and Sensory Processing Disorder from a parent’s POV. If you’d like to take a peek at my book to get a feel for my story and writing style, you can find my book, “Asperger’s in Pink” HERE and in the usual online spaces. I’ve written for various websites and magazines, including Autism Asperger’s Sensory Digest. My work on Asperger’s and Sensory Processing Disorder comes from a mom’s point of view, having raised a daughter on the Autism Spectrum. As for SPD, I personally experience it and can provide insight as to what it can be like when sounds go from loud to piercing, and how the “wrong” lighting really can mess up your day. (Earplugs go with me everywhere.)

Here’s who I can help – parents & caregivers, teachers and professionals. At this point I do not work with anyone under the age of 18.

Working with me should be considered complimentary to working with a licensed professional (i.e., in addition to a psychologist, etc.). When you hire me you are hiring someone who has walked the path and offers firsthand experience of the journey.

Curious if your Aspie can handle college? I can help here, too! My Aspie daughter graduated college last year and is now heading to law school! Her sensory issues have improved considerably, and she’s nothing short of amazing! There’s a lot we’ve learned along the way and it is my honor to share observations and lessons we’ve learned with you. All of our conversations are strictly confidential unless required by law.

How does this work? Each first time session is proceeded by swapping an email or two. This way we both can decide if working together will be a fit. This doesn’t cost anything but time and helps you understand if what I offer fits what you need at the time. Send me an email at: me [at] authorjulieclark [dot] com with your  “Work with Me” option in the subject line and we’ll go from there. (Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t hear back from me within a few business days.)

Where will we connect? Interested in coaching or personal consultations? Depending on your location, we’ll likely chat in person or Skype. For speaking engagements, I’ll travel to your location.

2019 Work with Me Options!

For 2019 I am offering parent (caregiver) coaching, professional consultations, limited speaking engagements and writing opportunities as follows (all prices are $ USD and do not include any travel costs, if applicable):

For Parents and Caregivers

For parents and caregivers I offer personal parent-to-parent style coaching sessions. “College Chat” sessions are unique in that they are great for anyone, not just Aspies!

Parent-to-Parent Coaching and College Prep Chats (starting at $50): This option is a good fit for any caregivers who simply want to talk through their current situations. This can include anything from parenting struggles to concerns about schooling, friendship (or lack thereof), and fears about the future, including college, and good old fashioned rants! I offer 30 minute sessions.

For background, K recently graduated from a Top Tier university and is now heading to law school! We’ve gone from wondering if she’d be able to go to college at all to looking at schools several time zones away.

It goes without being said College Chat sessions do not guarantee admissions. College is not for everyone. These are brain storming sessions which should be complimented with school counseling sessions and, if applicable, your Aspie’s therapy visits.

For Educators, Therapists, Business Professionals

For Business Professionals, Educators, Therapists, etc. I offer several options from consultations to talks. School discounts are given on a case by case basis. Travel costs, when applicable, are not included.

Pick my Brain (introductory price $75): This option is what it says it is! It is perfect for those who want to talk with someone who understands challenges working with someone on the Autism Spectrum. We’ll also discuss hidden gems Aspies bring to the table. I offer 30 minute sessions.

Speaking Engagements, including Lunch and Learn (starting at $500): We’ll work together to focus on a topic and approach that will best benefit your audience.

Articles for Your Publication (starting at $125): Choose this option if you would like a written piece on Asperger’s, Sensory Processing Disorder, or parenting.

** NOTE: all pro bono slots are currently filled.**

The Fine Print

Fine print. Ugh. Yeah, I know. This is the section that is beyond boring and produces eye strain. Still, it is quite necessary to get this out on the table.

In general, until we create an established working relationship, all fees must be paid in advance.

Of course, I’ve gotta add more dry as melba toast type content here, so bear with the tone as we continue talking about policies and working together.

Rescheduling:

Life happens. If you are unable to make our session, let me know as soon as possible so we can reschedule. If you are unable to reschedule, the refund policy will apply. Rescheduled sessions are nonrefundable.

Forgetting your appointment:

I’ve been there. I’ve done it. If this is your first time forgetting, we’ll work to reschedule. Otherwise, the refund policy applies.

Refund policy:

Coaching and consultations – Refunds can be requested up to 48 hours in advance of any session. After that refunds will not be issued as there are a limited number of sessions offered.

Speaking engagements – All speaking engagements incur a $250 cancellation fee if not rescheduled. Rescheduled events are nonrefundable.

Travel expenses – Due to the nature of some travel costs that must be purchased in advance, such as airline tickets, some or all of the travel costs may not be refunded.

Articles for your publication – Full refunds are available if made within 48 hours of contract and only if no content has been delivered. Partial refunds are issued on a case by case basis. For example, if multiple rewrites are requested expect only a partial refund as content has been delivered to you. Refunds are not made for any articles that are delivered, whether you choose to publish them or not.

Payment and Pricing:

Payment is due upon booking. For speaking engagements, we can work out a payment plan, if necessary. Sessions are booked in 30 minute intervals with pricing listed per session, not per minute. In other words, if we chat for 29 minutes instead of 30, (or 35 minutes instead of 30, etc.) pricing remains the same.

Whew! Done! Did you make it to the end?

Thank you for considering working together in 2019!

I wish you a wonderful, healthy, happy and successful year!

All my best,

Julie
